Back to the Future with Happy Kids Homeschool’s Science Fair

October 28th, 2015 by Deborah Fike

As many of you know, October 21, 2015 is the day that Marty McFly went to the future to save his children in Back to the Future Part II.  With a heavy theme of science and discovery, it’s no wonder that organizations such as Happy Kids Homeschool in Puerto Rico held a Back to the Future Science Fair in honor of this pop culture day.

Hosted at La Universidad Metropolitana (UMET), educators from from around the area met to watch kids show off their various science projects.  Projects on weather, physics, biology and more were on display from the kids.  Professors evaluated 65 projects and 4 were chosen for their outstanding merit.

This event was the largest Back to the Future celebration in the Caribbean on October 21, 2015 with more than 150 people in attendance.  The fair had a free showing of the movie, and even managed to secure a Delorean to drive around during the fair.

Check out their video of the day below, complete with legendary music from the movie:

We’re proud to have been part of another Happy Kids Homeschool science fair.  They provide a unique educational environment to parents looking for a different way to teach their children.  Providing opportunities for homeschool kids to show off their science knowledge is a great way to connect communities and encourage kids into STEM fields.
